- Development and assessment of a computer code for the prediction of the unsteady behaviour of diesel like liquid sprays injected into high pressure / high temperature quiescent vessels using statistical (MONTEý CARLO) method for spray representation and a finite difference technique for the air motion (CFD).
-
Development
of a non-iterative procedure to solve the governing conservation
equations of a turbulent reacting flows by an operator splitting technique and
assessing it through comparisons with the well established iterative scheme.
-
Prediction of many fluid flow problems using the
above finite – difference technique. These include combustion in a 3-D engine
situation, natural gas combustion, flow characteristics in gas turbines and 3-D flows in ducts, flow
in fuel cells, porous media.
-
Development of novel techniques to solve the
governing equations of premixed and non-premixed methane or hydrogen – air
flamelets, using either a reduced or detailed chemical kinetic mechanisms using
the concept of the flamelet modelling.
-
Conducting many experimental measurements including
spray characteristics using a non-intrusive optical techniques (laser).
-
Supervision of some M.Sc. and Ph.D. students working
in the field of combustion and computational fluid dynamics.
